Feeling very French

Or not, really. The way the French (and Woody Allen) figure it, Pumpkin and I should be having a lot more s.ex than we are right now given all of the life and death around us. But we’re Americans, damnit. The anxiety we’ve been feeling has completely overridden any libidinous thoughts we might have had. (And you don’t actually think the parents of a 2.5 year old have libidinous thoughts, do you?)

The sorta-good news is that pdxfoodmama’s mother was given many more options than they had thought possible for palliative care that should give her a reasonably good quality of life for 3-6 months, possibly as long as two years. So, I did not have to pour pdxfoodmama her mini-van after the meeting to discuss her mother’s options. Added bonus: pdxfoodmama will not be spending the afternoon with another dear family friend picking out a burial plot.

In fact, pdxfoodmama was feeling so much better that we climbed into aforementioned mini-van and drove across town to a whole ‘nuther hospital and met the offspring of fawnapril and pnsm. I’ve never seen a more beautiful baby! And, this baby is of normal size — not a 9+ pound Behemoth, like the other babies with whom I’ve been acquainted since birth.
